Sediment Removal Project in the Yahara Lakes Moving Ahead to Second Phase
On July 6th, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi joined the Land and Water Resource Department to showcase the second phase of its Yahara Chain of Lakes Sediment Removal Project. The sediment removal project, kicked off in May 2020, will help mitigate future flood risk due to climate change and increasingly extreme weather. Parisi included $2.5 million in his 2021 budget and $3 million in his 2022 budget to keep the initiative moving forward. Learn more about the sediment removal project.
