2023 Yahara Watershed Monitoring Season Kickoff
We are excited to welcome our returning volunteers to the 2023 monitoring season! Volunteers in the Yahara Watershed/Dane County area are encouraged to kick off the monitoring season with us on Saturday, April 1 at Dane County Land and Water Resources Department at 5201 Fen Oak Drive, Madison, WI 53718.
We will distribute monitoring supplies at this time and provide volunteers an opportunity to learn about data entry, access, and interpretation. Volunteers with dissolved oxygen meters and thermistors can also learn more about how to use this equipment.
9:00 – 12:30: Equipment pickup
9:30 – 11:15: Data workshop
- Entering your data on SWIMS 2.0
- Accessing and interpreting your data
- Monitoring reminders
11:15 – 11:45: Equipment training
- Calibrating your DO meter
- Installing and getting data from your thermistor
