Project RED Training: Learn to identify and monitor aquatic invasive species with us in Janesville

Want to ‘adopt’ your favorite local water body? Join us at Kiwanis Pond in Janesville where we’re hosting a hands-on and comprehensive workshop on how to identify, monitor, and report aquatic invasive species, as well as how to prevent their spread. The protocols we teach are part of Project RED, a statewide program dedicated to educating and empowering the public to protect their local waterways by finding and reporting aquatic invasive species. Once trained, volunteers are welcome to adopt stream sites to visit and monitor once a year annually. No supplies or previous training required!

We recommend bringing along a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, snacks, shoes or waders that can get wet and anything else that you require to be comfortable at this outdoor event. The event will occur regardless of weather, provided no lightning or torrential downpours are expected. Any cancellations or rain checks will be decided and communicated to registrants on Thursday, August 28th.
