Aquatic Invasive Species Paddle: Horicon Marsh

Fri, June 28 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Register Here

Want to enjoy the wonders of Horicon Marsh while also contributing to monitoring efforts for aquatic invasive species? Join us and Friends of Horicon Marsh for a paddle on the water. We will begin with a session giving an overview of aquatic invasive species, how to identify, monitor, and report them, as well as how to prevent their spread. This will be followed by a paddling tour of Horicon Marsh, while we keep an eye out for the aquatic invasive species we learned about.

Kayaks, paddles, and life vests will not be provided, so participants are required to bring their own. We also highly recommend bringing along a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, snacks, shoes that can get wet and anything else that you require to be comfortable as this event is outdoors for several hours.

Have any questions? Email Lizzy Reitzloff, our Stream Monitoring and AIS Coordinator, at lizzy@rockrivercoalition.org

Sponsored by Wisconsin DNR’s Lake Monitoring and Protection Network. Hosted in partnership with Friends of Horicon Marsh and Rock River Coalition.
